The UKEND2END route is designed by cyclists, for cyclists. Combining the best that British cycling has to offer in terms of roads, scenery, and landmarks with unparalleled rider support.
The route planners have gone to great lengths to ensure this 1000 mile, 9 day tour is the perfect balance between outright challenge and fun. Plotting a safe route, on roads with good surfaces and visibility, which can carry 150 riders and support vehicles, and then identifying great rest-stops, meal loctions (and pubs!), and marrying up daily distances with manageable ascents requires a lot of work - and we think we've got it just right!

As you cycle your way along the 1000 miles linking Cornwall with Caithness, in your slipstream will be a vast support team supplied by international challenge organisers Action Challenge to ensure that you maintain your momentum and are well looked after.
- Fully signed route + route marshals + embedded cycle guides
- Professional bike mechanics and maintenance support with clear mechanic marquees
- Event doctors, medics and massage teams
- Bike collection and drop-off service, on-event baggage transfer
- Tented village accommodation including main event mess tent, mobile bar, bike servicing marquee, shower trailer, toilets, pop up sleeping tents and sleeping mats
- Indoor accommodation every third night during the challenge, to break up camping.
- All meals, mobile catering, rest-stops, nutritional support from SIS
- Sourced, regional themed menu's each night
- Joining accommodation in Penzance
- Hotel accommodation and celebration party in Inverness
Pre-Event Support
Once registered to UK END 2 END you will receive a full welcome pack, access to the participants area and online community where your 1000 mile challenge begins. Pre-event support includes invites to regional 100 mile training rides, training and nutritional guidleines endorsed by event partners Science in Sport and a comprehensive challenge briefing. Pre-event joining accommodation in Penzance, the riders celebratory dinner and hotel accommodation in Scotland is included in the event cost!
Costs
Your ride across the UK will raise invaluable funds to allow Action Medical Research to continue their work helping babies and children here in the UK. The costs of the event are: 2012
- £199 Registration Fee (non-refundable)
- £2600 Minimum sponsorship
'Minimum Sponsorship' is a commitment from you to raise sponsorship of at least £2600 for Action Medical Research of which £1350 must have been received by the charity by 12 March 2012 to confirm your place on the ride. Action Medical Research will pay the event organisers Action Challenge for the balance of your place on UK END 2 END and retain all remaining funds for their valuable work.
